|13.03.09: Press-service| // On March 13, 2009 the annual “Fame” (“Izvestnost”) Award of Izvestia newspaper and publishing house was presented to the President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli. The “Fame” award was set up in 2005 by the oldest Russian newspaper established in 1917 to recognize achievements of prominent figures of culture, business, politics and sports. |

Zurab Tsereteli Immortalized the Memory of Alexy II in Bronze

|16.01.09: RIA News| // Zurab Tsereteli plans to place his monument to Patriarch Alexy II in Gogolevsky boulevard. The sculptor created the statue five years ago. The 2,5m tall figure of the head of the Russian Orthodox Church has been executed in bronze. Alexy II is depicted in the Patriarch’s vestments with a crosier in his hand. |

Zurab Tsereteli met with Alexy II more than once, particularly during his work on the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. The sculptor has collected a lot of the Patriarch’s photographs that he is going to show to the public in February. |
